- It has been alleged by a private news channel that Opinion poll conducting agencies often manipulate the data at the behest of political parties for few bucks.
- The news agency said ,it had conducted a undercover operation where many poll surveying agencies would be hand in glove to manipulate data if a bribe is given and they would show the results as required with 3-5% margin of error in the data collected, thus showing lopsided results.
- Government’s wish to ban opinion polls has been vindicated by this incident where the main opposition party is opposing the banning of opinion polls.
- We need to wait and watch what the Election Commission takes the view on the issue of banning Opinion polls in India aftermath of this incidence.
