Apples transparent texting lets you text & walk
- US tech giant Apple has filed a patent for a latest technology named ‘transparent texting’ aimed at reducing mishaps that occur when people text during walking. The technology streams a live video of whatever is happening in front of the smartphone user to his text background.
- The patent, originally filed in September, 2012, details how this could be activated using a transparency button incorporated within the texting screen that starts streaming the live video feed. Overlaying the background video would be text bubbles that could be opaque or semi-transparent.
- Potential extensions of the concept could be replacing the background of a webpage with a live video feed to overlay the text over whatever environments the device user is moving through.
