Act on Bird Sanctuary Green Zone Proposal, Centre Told
- The governments of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh had passed a proposal on creating Eco-sensitive zone around Okla Bird Sanctuary. The center has directed National Green Tribunal to take necessary actions for implementing this decision.
- Justice P. Jyothimani who is the head of the bench has been asked to visit Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board and check the projects within 10 km of the sanctuary. He has been entrusted with the responsibility of checking the correctness of the information that has been provided by the builders. Tribunal court passed the order after Gaurav Bansel, a petitioner from the counsel of Amit Kumar stated that the clearance certificate filed by the builders were not proper
- In the proceedings, the Delhi Government was asked to send in the proposal about the eco-sensitive zone, which was located around the sanctuary. This report was supposed to be sent to Ministry of Environment and Forests within 15 days.
- U. P has submitted a report with proposal of 100 meter to be allotted as eco-sensitive zone, which is located around the bird sanctuary. It is still pending before the Ministry.
