April 1, 2014 by AmbitionIAS Leave a Comment

  • Advocate Kamlesh Vaswani had filed a petition pointing out Pornographic websites are root cause of all crimes, particularly the crimes against women and children.
  • Based on this, Union Government got a notice from SC, which wanted the former to ban Pornographic websites.
  • Easy access of Pornographic material, in form of CDs / DVDs / downloadable is one of the main reason for rise in number of rapes according to the petition.
  • The petitioner quoted that the accused at times confided in the police to have watched porn before committing the crime.
