- A Grievance Redress Committee, headed by Deputy Commissioner, for speedy resolution of grievances of the residents’ welfare association (RFAs) in the licensed colonies was constituted by the Gurgaon district administration.
- RWA representatives briefed the Commissioner about the debilitated condition of infrastructure, commercial use of community centres, poor condition of roads, water supply, sewerage, drainage, water harvesting, green belts and parks in the colonies.
- According to the law, the colonizers are supposed to develop a colony, seek completion certificate and transfer its maintenance to the municipal corporation for five years. But no developer has sought the certificate so far.
- The residents had earlier filed a case before the Punjab and Haryana Court against dual taxation and no completion certificates, and also its failure to hand over the maintenance to municipal corporation.
- The residents were asked to enlist their top 10 grievances and present it to the committee. The colonizers were also asked to submit a report on the availability of essential services in the areas developed by them.
- Besides the resident representatives, district administration officials and representatives of the developers will also take part in the meeting in which an immediate decision for the resolution of the complaints will be taken.
- A report to the State Government will also be sent.
