16th Lok Sabha Polls Scheduled To Start From 7th April
- Election Commission has announced the schedule for 16th Lok Sabha polls and it is to be conducted in 9 phases across the country, starting from 7th April to end on 12th May.
- There going to be many firsts in this election and they are as follows:
None of the Above(NOTA) will be used for the first time
Voter-verified paper audit trial (VVPAT) will be used for the first time at some polling stations.
Largest number of first time voters may vote in this election(15crore)
For the first time in Lok Sabha polls “transgenders” will have the opportunity to vote.
- Now Central or State governments cannot announce any populist schemes and order transfer of officials, as Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has come in to force from 5th March.
