14 New ‘Dancing Frog’ Species Found in Western Ghats

  • 14 new species of dancing frogs identified in Western Ghats by Indian biologists
  • A decline in the number of acrobatic amphibians registered over the last 12 years,
  • Morphological descriptions, molecular DNA used to register the new species, breeding by frogs begins in running rain waters after monsoon shower
  • Biologists’ research works on 14 frog species published in the Ceylon Journal of Science, total number of such species now stand at 24.
