- Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Punjab have implemented Food Security act and Bihar, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka and Chandigarh have implemented the Act partially
- According to this act all the states have to identify the number of beneficiaries, but only the above states have done it so far
- Mr.Ramvilas Pasan said the center will decide soon on whether or not to extend the deadline for identification of beneficiaries under the Act
- Around 1.58 crore families have been under the Act already
